Friday Fragments is hosted by my Mrs. 4444, a place were we can do a brain dump or defrag our brain for the week!
Who can believe that Thanksgiving has come and gone? Wooosh, that is how I feel time is moving right now.
We had a nice Thanksgiving. Breakfast at my mom’s church in the morning (also the church in which I grew up), relaxing at home, and then dinner at my nephew and his
girlfriend fiance later in the day. We all brought something to share for the meal, so it was not so much work for anyone.
We are roasting a turkey today. I’m using the Champagne Turkey recipe that Stacy shared over at Random Thoughts. We just happened to have a bottle of champagne in the refrigerator that I have no clue of it’s origin! (EDITED to add – the TURKEY was FABULOUS… no picture, I was out at the movies when it was done, and my mom had it all off the bone!)
I’m watching my niece’s boys today – all three 8,9 & 14 – It is so much easier to keep the little guys entertained when we can be outside at a park. Today is just a nasty day outside. When it is like this I wish it would just SNOW! It’s about 10 degrees too warm for that though! They are playinig Wii right now, and in a bit we will go see Planet 51. At least the two little guys and Tara. I suspect the 14 yo will stay home an play XBOX. (Edited to add – Nope he went with us to see another movie, but the paper had a wrong time so he had to suffer through Planet 51… “it was not even funny”. The other three liked it, and what parts I didn’t have my eyes closed for or I was not playing a game on my IPHONE were funny!)
I decided today that I could no longer put off looking for a job. My year’s salary is starting to run out… and I can’t live on just my pension, I need something to supplement! Part time would work, but I actually found a job on line that is at the company my sister works for, only 5 min from home, that is very similar to several jobs I did for AT&T. If I would get the job, it would be a miracle, or one of those things that was meant to be since it is the first time I have looked on line for a job, but really I think it would be PERFECT. We shall see what happens. I will head out on Monday and do some other applications too for your basic grocery store, drug store, etc locations that are close by if they are taking applications. I would actually like to find a job that is off hours. Let the hunt begin!

These photos were all taken in Charlottesville, VA. I have posted a couple on my “New Adventures” blog, but I thought they would be perfect for Weekend Reflections as well! The top one I just loved the window, but if you look close there are tree branches reflected. This was taken in the shopping are of Charlottesville. The other two photos were taken at Monticello.
I’m not sure if we are partying at Ann’s tonight, but I for sure am stopping at the Wine & Spirit store on the way home from the movies. I think I will need something this evening. I will return and edit if there is something to play along with tonight!
There is also a Virtual Cooke Exchange going on …. I thought I would play along. I don’t know if I can come up with 25 recipes for each day, but I do have a few favorites. I have not baked yet this year, so I won’t have “original” photos (at least not this week!) Looks like I’m the first one to post today! Hopefully everyone is out shopping!
