Sky Watch Friday – Fireworks

This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
William Arthur Ward

I have enjoyed participating in Sky Watch Friday.  I have been awed and inspired by the incredible photos shared each and every week.  I wish each and every one a very Happy New Year.  Hoping that 2010 brings much happiness and healthy to you and yours, as well as lots of new photographic opportunities!  Much thanks to the Sky Watch team Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise & Sylvia!
(All of these fireworks photos were taken hand held/no tripod, with a Canon S2-IS camera)

Skywatch Friday – Fireworks

It’s Friday already, this week seemed to FLY right by! It’s also time for Sky Watch Friday. Click on the button and check out “sky” shots from around the globe!

I was trying to figure out what to use for SWF this week, and totally forgot about the firework pictures I took on Saturday, so here are a few. It was raining, I didn’t think they were going to happen until we heard them from home and hour earlier than they were scheduled. We rushed out the door, and down the road about 2 miles to the carnival. I thought I had scoped out a great spot the night before when I forgot my memory card, but didn’t realize in the darkthere was a chain link fence between me and the fireworks. These were taken without a tripod, with the lens through the hole in the chain link, oh and as you can see, I was under a tree, but if I weren’t under the tree, I would have been SOAKED because like I said, it was RAINING!

Sky Watch Friday – FIREWORKS

I thought I would share some EPCOT fireworks since it is the 4th of July celebration weekend here in the US. (these are not the best, as I did not have a tripod)

A Thousand Words Thursday – Fireworks

Cheaper Than Therapy

Jen is on vacation with her family, so ATWT might not be up on her blog until Friday, but I wanted to make sure I got my picture(s) posted. ATWT is a place to share our favorite photos from the past or present. Click on the button above (probably not until Friday) to see other entries for this week!

In honor of 4th of July, what better pictures than FIREWORKS.

These were taken at Magic Kingdom, July 3, 2006.

Tara and I normally stayed away from the parks on or around holidays, but something “moved” us to go that evening. We had a great time, spending most of it right near Big Thunder Mtn Railroad. It is a great spot away from the crowds to watch fireworks, and Tara rode BTMRR for a record breaking (for her anyway) 13 times in one night!

Photos were taken hand held (no tripod) with my Canon S2-IS. (I loved that camera, but it died!)

and just because I was always proud of how this photo turned out (of BTMRR), I thought I would share too!
