I started this post on THURSDAY on my iPhone using the Blogger App. Pretty cool. Tara was monopolizing the desktop, and I wanted to get my post up on time Friday. I never had a chance to really get back to it!
I hope Mrs 4444 and Hilary don’t mind me joining in late!
This has been a long week. Tara has a sore throat and missed two full days of school plus part of another. She has missed too many days, and I keep waiting for the truant officer to come haul me off. We did go to the doctor yesterday (Wednesday), so we should be covered! Having her home on my days off impedes my getting stuff done… She gets 100% of my time off on the weekends, but I like having my weekday off to do what I want! Usually nothing exciting… Mostly cleaning and laundry!
So, since the weekend is already almost over, I will fill you in with those fragments! Not many to fill in really.
I spent two days at work rearranging our “hair needs” wall. Barrettes, hair ties, brushes, etc. I love doing “resets”, they keep me busy all day, and when I am done, I have something that I can look at and say I accomplished that. You might think everything is just “hanging” on a wall or “sitting” on a shelf, but each piece of merchandise is mapped out. I like following the plan, and filling in the missing spaces with new products!
The weekend…. it’s been okay. Tara had a friend spend the night on Friday, and two spend the night last night. In between I made a lasagna and cookies for them to eat. They played Just Dance 2 and watched scary movies.
That was my Saturday off…. errand running, cooking, baking, and watching over three teens. They are good girls, but were pushing the envelope a little….I always think to myself WWTPD? (What Would their Parents Do?) or what would I want another parent to do if they were in my position and my child was involved. Nothing really, but just a couple things that make me realize I need to stay tuned in and listen to everything… and sometimes read between the lines.
Sunday is here already. I work at 4pm. Before that I need to drive my mother to Philadelphia – Children’s Hospital of Phila – my 15 yr old nephew is a patient again and his mom has to work today. He doesn’t want to be alone all day. I can’t say I blame him at his age. He will be okay. My niece hasn’t publicly shared any details, so I am going to keep those to myself.
Have I mentioned how much I love Netflix streaming. I have watched movies I don’t think I would have paid attention to in the video store. I watched the first season of Hot in Cleveland with Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendy Malick. It is good! I caught up on season two when I DVRd a marathon on TVLand. I love having the option of watching “TV” or a movie while I am on my break at work. I find it too difficult to read… I get distracted by too many things. I’m watching a sad movie right now as I type, Listen to Your Heart. Check it out if you can, it is a very touching movie. The young man who wrote the screen play is also stars. Cybil Shepard plays a mean mother like only she can!
Welcome to Follow Friday Four Fill-in Fun Blog Hop Week#3
Each week, Hilary lists four statements with a blank for us to fill in on our blogs.
This week’s statements:
1. I am probably in the minority, but I really don’t like Twilight movies. (No clue why THAT was the first thing that came to mind)
2. I get so mad when I see someone litter. I mean really, there are trash cans so many places. Tara got upset with me the other week when I yelled out the car window at some kids in a car, they threw a McDs cup right out the window as they were leaving the parking lot. We were stopped at the stop sign next to them…. to her HORROR she knew the kids.
3. After I have my morning coffee I feel better. (I need a cup now…. I forgot to get K-cups yesterday, so I am stuck with instant until I go out a little later)
4. If I don’t clean the guinea pig cage and litter box– it will really stink! I know Hillary used that one too…. last night Tara found out what happens when she blocks the front of the litter box with her boots… the cat does his thing on the bathroom floor….. maybe now she will be more conscious about not leaving stuff all over the bathroom floor…. unfortunately that is the only place we have for the litter box!
I am hoping for a quiet week… but it is not looking good already. Things piling up to do on my two days off!!!
