I Heart Faces Photo Challenges – Days 7 & 8

Day 7 – View from Here – I sat outside the concert venue The Electric Factory for for 4 1/2 hours on Friday evening while my daughter and her friend were inside. I’ve become quite accustomed to killing time in my car during shows! With IPhone and portable DVD player and a few blankets it’s almost like being in my living room!

Day 8 – Shopping – okay, so I work in retail and on my day off the LAST thing I want to do is SHOP! I did do a little on line shopping for my Mom. She choose a 15 yr old girl from the Angel Tree at her church who asked for a camera I was trying to find the best that fit for a teenager and my Mom’s budget!

Gosh, my photos are BORING! Not much you can do with a boring, no time for creativity life!!!!

Meet Me on Monday and the Best of 2010

This week’s “challenge” from I Heart Faces is to pick your best (face) photo of the year.  Only the photo I am sharing below came to mind.  This was taken of my daughter Tara in August.  We were on a carriage ride in Old Town Philadelphia.  I not only love this picture of Tara, it reminds me how quickly she has changed in the past few months.  This was a time when I could just snap a random photo of her without a hand but up to my camera in protest…. now her hair is not right, she doesn’t have make up on….. in this picture, she had on a hat that belonged to our carriage driver, and I’m pretty certain, there was NO make up involved!

Each week Java @ Never Growing Up hosts Meet Me on Monday to get to know her readers better!  Here are my answers for this week’s questions.  Won’t you stop by Java’s and join in the fun?

Questions:

1.  Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?  I really didn’t make any resolutions.  Of course there is always the need to lose weight, and save money…. we’ll see how that goes this year!

2.  What food item are you craving right now?  Not really craving anything at this very moment.  I just had a mug of hot chocolate and a couple pretzel rods.  If you are talking in general… I’ve really been in the mood for sushi the past few days!

3.  When is your birthday?  Feb 22, I share my birthday with George Washington!

4.  What were you doing an hour ago?  Reading blogs and playing Country Life.

5.  Last thing you cooked?  I cooked a pot roast for dinner.  It was YUMMY!

Thanks A-Latte for stopping by!

I Heart Faces – Pets

I don’t enter I Heart Faces often, because my photos pale in comparison to most, but when it comes to my pets, I love to show them off.  I particularly love this one of Kovu for this holiday season, so I’m throwing it in the ring!

Not a creature was stirring!

Thanks A-Latte for stopping by!

I Heart Faces – Got To Wear Shades

As soon as I saw “Stella” and her green ♥ shaped glasses, I knew I had to get a picture. Stella and Blue were our guides through the streets of Old City, Society Hill and the National Park area of Philly on Saturday. I sense that Stella has a very unique personality and wished we could have talked to her about more than Philly history! I know there will be better pictures entered this week, but I really wanted to share this one!  (Actually, Blue has “shades” on too…. )

A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness!

If you visited my post on Friday, I shared one of my favorite shots of the week, a heart that I created from a pile of candy canes.  That heart has been in my head all week.

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.
Kahlil Gibran

It is very important to generate a good attitude, a good heart, as much as possible. From this, happiness in both the short term and the long term for both yourself and others will come.
Dalai Lama

Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.
Buddha

Believe deep down in your heart that you’re destined to do great things.
Joe Paterno

Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts.
Charles Dickens

The mother’s heart is the child’s schoolroom.
Henry Ward Beecher

I’m adding one more, my friends Cezar and Léia and Luna too shared this one in their comment.

“We can only be said to be alive
in those moments
when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.”
(Thornton Wilder)

Have a Fa La La La Day!

I ♥ Faces – Candid

This week’s theme at iheartfaces.com is “Completely Candid”. I thought I would give it a try!

This picture is my cousin’s daughter K. taken at a graduation party. She could not figure out who this person was taking pictures of her since had not yet been born when we moved away, but she was so adorable that I felt compelled to keep snapping away!

Have a great day!

Cassie one of our cats who is now living with a new family. I miss her (and her sister) every day. This is my most favorite picture of her!

This picture was taken at our favorite sushi restaurant just after Tara tried octopus for the very first time. I was sure to have the camera ready just in case……

Edited to add:(she did not like it… kudos though for trying – I will not – she likes mushrooms, steamed clams, flounder, salmon, asparagus and spinach so I guess not liking octopus is okay! She loves her CA rolls!)

I &hearts Faces #24- Kids – Let’s Hear it for the Boys

From The Daily Grind

I only have one daughter, so I had to pull out a picture of my great nephew Kier, shortly after stepping off the plane at OIA for his first trip to Disney World and to visit us! He had never flown or been so far from home before!

Be sure to check out the other entries this week at
