Ruby Tuesday Too – A Day in Magic Kingdom!

The winter has been long and cold, and it has been 4 1/2 years since we left Florida to move back to Pennsylvania. Both Tara and I have been “homesick” for Disney, not really Florida, well, yes, the warmth of the Florida winter, but especially Disney.

When we lived in Orlando,we visited Disney pretty much on a weekly basis. It was our go to activity if we were bored and had nothing to do. Having Annual Passes made it very easy, we would just hope on 417 and in less than an hour we would be on Disney property.

Here in PA, in the winter, there really is NOTHING to do, well nothing to do that doesn’t cost a fortune.

I decided for Ruby Tuesday Too, I would take you on a virtual walk around Magic Kingdom!

Don’t forget to pay attention to where you park. The parking lots are huge and you will be very tired at the end of the day!
Now hope on a tram, and the fun will soon begin.
Let’s take the monorail today!
Monorail red it will be!!!
Mickey and the train station! Are you ready to go into the park?
If you are lucky you might see the Main Street band.

I think we will take the horse drawn trolley to today and miss the crowds on Main St.!
You can’t miss Cinderella’s Castle, maybe you want to stop for a show?
Now for a spin in the tea cups…..

Let’s drive the the Tomorrowland Speedway

Ready to cool off? How about a thrilling ride on Splash Mtn?
We need to detour back an go to Haunted Mansion! One of my favorites!

Who is that? Why it’s the Genie from Aladdin!
Dinner at Libery Tree with Chip and Dale was always a favorite!
And we end the day with FIREWORKS!

I hope you enjoyed our little visit! Now I think I am “homesick” more than ever!
Stop by and visit more Ruby Tuesday Too entries!

Ruby Memories

When you’re curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.
Walt Disney

A little more Disney today. I don’t have any new “rubies” to share this week. I’m off for a few days, and hope I get to some photography worthy destinations! The Queen of Hearts and White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland! Oh my, how my Tara has changed from the little girl of 9 in 2006, to a 15 year old teen! I am so thankful we had those years in Florida. We lived there for the perfect years in a young girls life, from 6-12!

Day#13/365
Today I am thankful for photography. Not only has it been a long time hobby of mine, but it is the thing that brought me to blogging, which has brought me to so many wonderful blogging friends. I am not artistic in any way that requires the use of a pencils, pens, or brushes, but when I am taking photographs I feel like I am creating works of personal art (well some of them!)

Living in Orlando, with almost weekly visits to Disney gave me many opportunities to practice my photography, not to mention the varied wildlife and bird life that is found there! Florida was where I learned to NEVER LEAVE home without my camera, which has been made much easier now that our smartphones generally have a pretty decent camera!

You can peruse some of my photography here. There is some good, some bad and some so-so. Now that some years have passed since our “Disney Era”, I need to go through and clean out some of the so-so pics!

Well, it is time again to run to work! I had a productive day off yesterday, and look forward to Friday and Saturday off!
The weather has continued to be unseasonably warm, but rainy. I hear that we are in for the return of colder weather and possibly even a wee bit of the white stuff tonight!

Thanks A-Latte for stopping by!

Wild and Crazy, NOT!

Wow, we are halfway through August and 30 Days About Me! Time is flying much too fast.
If you haven’t been following along, I’ve been participating in 30 Days about Me, hosted by Toni.

Day 16- Who Do You Do the Most Crazy Things With OR What is the Most Crazy Thing You’ve Done?

30 Days About Me

I don’t really think of myself as the “wild and crazy” kind of girl. I mean when I was younger, I had my moments, but of late, not so much.

I think becoming a mom, a single mom at that has made me a more cautious person. I’ve never really been much of a daredevil either, so no bungee jumping, sky diving or wrestling alligators for me!

Some might say packing up and moving to Orlando 10 weeks after my first visit there was crazy. I did that in 2003. Tara and I moved 1000 miles from all our friends and family just because, we could. We had a great six year adventure living near the “House of the Mouse”. We moved back home to PA six years and 4 days later to be back closer to family. (Some family events over the past three weeks make me question that decision at times!)

We’ve had some “memorable” adventures. Those that people would say, I would never have thought to do that.

The two that come to my mind involve Tropical Storms, coincidentally, both beginning with the letter “E”. Ernesto and Earl!

We went to Magic Kingdom during Tropical Storm Ernesto (8/30/2006). We lived less than an hour from the parks, Tara’s school was closed, and I worked at home. The rains weren’t too bad, so we decided to head over and have dinner and see what else we could do. We had the park almost to ourselves and had a good four hours before the storm started to get bad.
Adventureland - TS Ernesto
Last year, we headed to Ocean City, NJ during Tropical Storm Earl. We wanted to be close to the ocean, to see the waves. We had a great day! (9/3/2010)

So, are you wild and crazy? What was the craziest thing you have done?

Mosaic Monday – Magic Kingdom Christmas

Mosaic Monday is one of my favorite posts of the week.  It is always fun to figure out the theme each week!  Mosaic Monday is hosted by Mary at The Little Red House.  Do stop by, say hello and visit some of the other participants.  You won’t be disappointed, and maybe you too will be inspired to join in the fun!

It’s back to Disney posts for me, having spent the last 6 Christmases in Florida, for Tara and I it was pretty much all about Disney.  I do have to admit that I am missing it just a little!

Hopefully I can get out and about and find some new Christmas shots throughout the month to share.  I’ve got one little “field trip” up my sleeve for this week.  We will see how that works out.

Have a Fa La La La Day!

With Fall upon us here in Pennsylvania, and Tara and I loving it, we look fondly back on our favorite fall activity while we lived in Orlando. Halloween at Magic Kingdom was always fun! 2007 and 2008, must have been days when Tara was not wanting to be in the photos! I know we were there, but no pics with Tara!
