I took these pictures on Sunday evening, while I was out running an errand. The location (the store at which I work) used to be an awesome place to see the a sunset, but a new building is being built directly in our view! I usually take my camera if I stop by there in the evening because on many occasions there will be a hot air balloon flying over! With no sunset or balloon to take pictures of I turned myself around and saw the beautiful, not quite full, moon!

The moon last night was incredible. My picture does not do it justice, but I wanted to document the “event”.
The moon last night was closer to the earth than it had been in 13 years, and it will not be that close again until 2016. It appeared 14% bigger and 30some% brighter.
We were driving west on the Beach Line last evening, and I looked in my side view mirror and there it was – breathtaking as it it started to “rise” into the evening sky. At that point I did not think about there being anything “special” about the moon, but I did comment to Tara that it looked HUGE and BRIGHT.
This photo was taken when we stopped to play mini golf later in the evening. I wish I would have been in a position to stop and take a shot earlier in the evening, but I don’t think that would have been very responsible on the busy toll road!
