Quotable Sunday – Morning

Mothers Day Gift Ideas

It’s Sunday, and that means “Quotable Sunday” over at A Daily Dose of Toni. I just realized that Toni, like EVERYONE else is at Blogher, so I don’t know if she will have a post today. I noticed that my blog friend Stacy (whose topic this week is FRIENDS) has her Quotable Sunday up, so I will post mine too… after all it’s already done. For some reason I missed posting last Sunday, so I don’t want to miss another week!

I am normally a morning person, and embrace the early morning hours, when all else is quiet and I am the only one awake, this morning however, I did not EMBRACE the early hour at which Princess and Kovu decided it was BREAKFAST time. Not even the knowledge that my new Keurig coffee maker was sitting primed and ready to make my first delicious cup of coffee was enough for me to want to get up, but GET UP, I did. I did not sleep well last night, I saw every at least a few minutes of every hour tick away on the clock.

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.
Marcus Aurelius

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.
Kahlil Gibran

The light which puts out our eyes is darkness to us. Only that day dawns to which we are awake. There is more day to dawn. The sun is but a morning star.
Henry David Thoreau

We sleep, but the loom of life never stops, and the pattern which was weaving when the sun went down is weaving when it comes up in the morning.
Henry Ward Beecher

When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.
