Day 5 – Favorite Quote
“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”

Virtual Girls Night Out
Ann’s got a Virtual Party going on over at her place. Some great Panic! at the Disco music (I’ve actually seen them in concert) and some cocktails. I’m fashionably late to the party. I have a good excuse I was having a “movie night” with my teen. We watched Stephen King’s Langoliers, it was a very good movie. We didn’t argue once, well not until after the movie when I reminded her that she PINKY promised to clean her room!
More Panic! at the Disco (Brendan Urie of this group is on of Tara’s “crushes”),this song makes me SMILE!
Six Word Saturday is hosted by CallMeCate over on Show My Face. Stop over and share what’s on your mind in six words!
This is a great weekend hop, you can even link up to your FB account!
Thanks for stopping by today! I would love if you would follow me by clicking over there ——> on the Networked blog badge. (I finally was able to figure out how to bring my friends over from Google Friend Connect! I felt unloved with only two followers on Networked blog!)
Today starts a blogging project called 30 Days About Me. At the end of this month, you will know more than you ever wanted to know about me. If you would like to join in head over and visit Toni.
My Favorite Song – This is a tough one for me. If you read yesterday’s post, I mentioned that I have many songs that invoke happy times and good memories, however, there is not just one song that is my all time favorite.
I’ve got 50 decades of music to choose from, because I’m that old! I always loved music.
As a teenager, I had a HUGE collection of 45 records (do you young folks know what they are?) I carried them around in a fuschia pink record case. I had an electric/battery record player that traveled with me many places, as my parents and I camped almost every weekend and 2-3 weeks each summer.
My album collection in high school and into college was huge. I wish I had kept those 45s and the turntable. I did hold on to many of the albums for years, but let them go last time I moved.
I also have an eclectic taste in music. There are church hymns that move me to tears, classical, country songs, songs from the 50, 60, 70, 80s and so on. I like jazz, classic rock, I even like many current songs that Tara enjoys.
Picking that one song has been tough, but here it is – James Taylor – You’ve Got a Friend (in this video with another favorite artist of mine, Carole King)
I’m so glad that Stacy is keeping RTT going while Keely takes a break. I’ve been in a really random kind of mood already this week, maybe getting the stuff out of my brain will free up some neurons and help me think clearer.
My mom is still recuperating from her knee surgery, and I think she feels it is not going fast enough. She’s getting a little cranky. She has so many church friends, and family close by, but people aren’t stepping up and visiting. She needs to see other faces, have someone else to talk to but me. I’m feeling guilty right now for sitting in my room rather than hers.
Wide awake at 5am, on my freakin’ day off. Thank you Princess and Kovu. Tara is awake too. If I have to be awake this early, I like to be awake alone.
Watching Big Brother After Dark.
I found the best dust pan, brush, duster, rubber cloves and scrubbing brush at Five Below. “Tidy Aphrodite” – what a great name. They remind me of the cleaning show – How Clean is your House from the UK with Kim and Aggie! Maybe they will make cleaning more fun. Do you shopt at Five Below? I love that store.
“My” Dunkin’ Donuts has started selling K cups. This coffee loving Keurig owner could not be more happy. I will be picking up a box (or two or three) this week!
Tara’s “beau” has been coming over more often. I’m having a hard time with her having a “beau” (see, I can’t even use the BF word!) She is 14 1/2, he just turned 16. They only hang out here in the house, watching movies, at least I can keep on eye on them! His parents drop him off and pick him up. He’s polite enough. Summer romance? I hope. He will be at the high school, her still in the middle school. Is this really dating or just hanging out?
Lots of errands to run today. Wish I was off tomorrow, the forecast shows it is going to be in the high 70s instead of the 90s.
Life has got to get more interesting…. I’m so boring!
