Skywatch Friday – Point Pleasant

When I had time to blog, and take pictures with my DSLR, I had multiple blogs. One was mainly for sharing my photography and participating in daily photo “challenges”. I really enjoyed looking for subjects of the different themes each week. I have recently “downsized” my digital presence to just one blog. This blog space will now be my random musings about life as well as a place to showcase my photos! I hope you will visit often!

I always loved particiapting in SKYWATCH FRIDAY. So many fantastic photographers share their views of the sky from around the world. This is where I will start! I hope you enjoy my photo and if you have a chance take time to head over to Skywatch and enjoy the photos of others!

This photo was from two years ago in Point Pleasant, NJ. I am so missing the ocean. I have not even had the opportunity to take one day trip to the beach (it in less than 2 hours for those who are not local friends.) This weekend ends the summer beach season, I am hoping for some nice weather mid month, when I plan on taking a couple extra days off from work. I would love nothing more than a day trip to the coast to enjoy some quiet and peaceful time wiht the ocean. I was born under the sign of Pisces and really feel a sense of well being and contentment when I am near the ocean. I have been lacking this feeling for quite some time now and need to recenter!

Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, USA

We have a gorgeous blue sky here this morning, it really feels like fall is on the way. A beautiful day to spend outside, too bad I have to be at work in 4 1/2 hours. I will be spending most of my weekend at work, as will Tara. Labor Day weekend will find us both laboring!

Have a great day!

A Colorful Day at the Beach

I’m going to combine the weekly memes all in one this week.. baby steps getting back into blogging this week.

We made what could very well have been our last day trip to the shore (Ocean City, NJ) on Saturday.  I hope maybe we will have another beautiful Saturday, that coincides with a day off for me… but one can never be sure, so we jumped at the opportunity.

The boardwalk was full of color on Saturday with a car show going on… I love to see old/classic cars – I don’t know much about them, but I love ’em!

A bright yellow car to start off the week for Mellow Yellow Monday!

For RUBY TUESDAY – the flag flying half mast for 9/11
My favorite car of the day is what I will share for Mid Week Blues… I don’t think you would ever feel blue riding in this!
One of my favorite things on the beach are the lifeguard boats!   This is my entry for Watery Wednesday this week.
For Skywatch Friday – we saw this Horizon BCBS blimp several times during the day.  As we were leaving it passed close overhead.  I took this as a parting shot before I got in the car to drive away!

Skywatch Friday

It’s been a while, but I just loved this shot of clouds I took on my way into work yesterday afternoon. Behind me the sky was dark and stormy.

Sky Watch Friday

Blue sky and bright sunshine after the Blizzard of 2010.  We got close to 20″ of snow, on top of the 12″ we got over the weekend.

Skywatch Friday – Black Point Wildlife Drive

Black Point Wildlife Drive

Black Point Dr. is a wonderful wildlife experience by car, bike or on foot. It is a seven-mile ride with 11 kiosk stops with information about the various and abundant wildlife. Observers will appreciate the various birds, fish and the occasional alligator that can be seen from the trail.

There was a storm approaching, the sky was an incredible color.

SkyWatch Friday – Winter Sky

We were out the other day about 45 min before sunset. This view is looking east, the setting sun was giving of a golden glow. Later the sunset was gorgeous, I was home by then and we don’t have a clear view of the west so I don’t have any good photos.

I have enjoyed participating in Sky Watch Friday.  I have been awed and inspired by the incredible photos shared each and every week.  I wish each and every one a very Happy New Year.  Hoping that 2010 brings much happiness and healthy to you and yours, as well as lots of new photographic opportunities!  Much thanks to the Sky Watch team Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise & Sylvia!
