Skywatch Friday – Point Pleasant

When I had time to blog, and take pictures with my DSLR, I had multiple blogs. One was mainly for sharing my photography and participating in daily photo “challenges”. I really enjoyed looking for subjects of the different themes each week. I have recently “downsized” my digital presence to just one blog. This blog space will now be my random musings about life as well as a place to showcase my photos! I hope you will visit often!

I always loved particiapting in SKYWATCH FRIDAY. So many fantastic photographers share their views of the sky from around the world. This is where I will start! I hope you enjoy my photo and if you have a chance take time to head over to Skywatch and enjoy the photos of others!

This photo was from two years ago in Point Pleasant, NJ. I am so missing the ocean. I have not even had the opportunity to take one day trip to the beach (it in less than 2 hours for those who are not local friends.) This weekend ends the summer beach season, I am hoping for some nice weather mid month, when I plan on taking a couple extra days off from work. I would love nothing more than a day trip to the coast to enjoy some quiet and peaceful time wiht the ocean. I was born under the sign of Pisces and really feel a sense of well being and contentment when I am near the ocean. I have been lacking this feeling for quite some time now and need to recenter!

We have a gorgeous blue sky here this morning, it really feels like fall is on the way. A beautiful day to spend outside, too bad I have to be at work in 4 1/2 hours. I will be spending most of my weekend at work, as will Tara. Labor Day weekend will find us both laboring!

Have a great day!

Skywatch Friday – Philly Skyline

I’m a little late this week.
It’s been a crazy one.
If you want to know why, you can read about it here.

The events of this week had us taking an unexpected week day trip to Philadelphia.
I didn’t have much time for photography (we were visiting someone in the hospital), but traffic light luck was with me and I was able to stop on the South Street Bridge and snap a quick shot of the skyline with my IPhone. We are headed back down today, and I might have the opportunity to take a walk to the bridge, and hopefully get a shot I have wanted for years!

Friday was a stormy day. Lucky for us we just had angry skies, no rain on our trip too and from!
The clouds make for a dramatic shot!

Thanks for stopping by!

Skywatch Friday – Canaveral National Seashore

One of my favorite Florida Beaches – Canaveral National Seashore, sand, surf and blue skies!

Skywatch Friday – After a Rainstorm

Wow, what a week.

The issues that I have been dealing with here at home, pale in comparison to the devastation in Moore, OK. Even through that tragedy there are so many stories of hope and such an out pouring of kindness. There are bad things happening every day, all over the world, but sometimes it takes something closer to home to put things in perspective.

I’ve shared this before, but I couldn’t pass it up today, because to me a rainbow means hope

It is also Friday, and although I have to work tomorrow, I am HAPPY it is the weekend, Memorial Day weekend here in the US. One of my favorite holidays, as we honor and remember those fallen heroes who served our country. I would love if you would stop by my other blog for a series of posts I have been writing in memory of my brother Robin.

Philly Skyline

I spent the day last Friday (and I’m heading back there today) in Camden, NJ across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. It was a rainy, drizzly overcast kind of day, but I did get a few shots of the Philly Skyline and the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Towamencin Sunset

Out for an evening drive on Monday I witnessed this beautiful sunset!

Each morning sees some task begun, each evening sees it close; Something attempted, something done, has earned a night’s repose.

Malcolm Gross Rose Gardens
Cedar Creek Park, Allentown, PA
Reflection of the sky and sculpture in Reflecting Pool

I stopped at this rose garden on Tuesday during my “Adventures in Allentown” while my daughter and friends were at a concert. I decided instead of making the 60ish mile round trip twice to take them and pick them up, I would just find things to amuse myself. That is one great thing about photography, you can almost always find something to do!

Fly Me to the Moon

I took these pictures on Sunday evening, while I was out running an errand. The location (the store at which I work) used to be an awesome place to see the a sunset, but a new building is being built directly in our view! I usually take my camera if I stop by there in the evening because on many occasions there will be a hot air balloon flying over! With no sunset or balloon to take pictures of I turned myself around and saw the beautiful, not quite full, moon!
